Fire Suppression

FWP can supply and install Ansul Fire Suppression systems for your kitchen extraction canopies, all certified and installed by qualified engineers. This type of system consists of fixed pipe work running from stainless steel tanks into the extraction plenum and also above risk cooking appliances.

The pipe work has a nozzle positioned to discharge a wet liquid chemical agent above each risk appliance as well as nozzles pointing into the extraction chamber. Fusible links are positioned within the pipe work in the extraction chamber so in the event of fire, the wet chemical agent is automatically discharged from all nozzles.

A manual pull cord can also be used to activate the system. The wet chemical agent attacks the fire by rapidly knocking down the flame and reacting with the heat and cooking grease to produce soap like foam layer starving the fire of oxygen and preventing a fire re-flash.  FWP can offer advice on this type of system and recommend the best type of system for your application.
