F-gas Regulation
Legislation
F-gases are fluroinated gases that include HCFCs, HFCs and CDCs; they are used in refrigerated applicants and equipment, including air conditioning.
The current F-gas Regulation; applicable since 1st January 2015, replaces the original F-gas Regulation, adopted in 2006. The implementing regulations of the original remain in force and continue to apply until new acts are adopted.
Preventing emissions of F-gases from exisiting equipment by requiring checks, proper servicing and recovery of the gases at the end of the equipment's life.
This legislation was designed with the aim of eliminating the release of fluorinated fases (F-gases) into the atmosphere, by introducing specific checks which are required to be undertaken on systems. This methods helps identify any leaks and damage at the earliest opportunity. As part of FWP UK's maintenance packages; these relevant checks are carried out.
FWP UK are fully aware of our environmental responsibilities around the use of refrigerant gases in the air conditioning and refrigeration systems that we install. We are industry accredited and regulated, as well as all engineers being F-gas certified.
